A GUIDE TO CARING FOR YOUR OUTDOOR FURNITURE

If you take care of things, they last. Furniture also needs care and attention, especially outdoor furniture. This is because it is constantly in contact with dust, grit, and other things that can reduce the lifespan of your furniture.

If you want your outdoor furniture to last and enjoy many evenings outside in the amazing weather then here are some tips to care for your outdoor furniture.

Tips To Care For Outdoor Furniture

Care of the furniture entirely depends on the materials it is made from. This is why we have made this guide according to the material so it is easier for you to specifically take care of the kind of outdoor furniture you have.

Wicker

This is the most low-maintenance type of furniture as it doesn't require too much work to care for. It is suitable for any type of weather and is a great material for outdoor patio furniture.

To clean this, you first need to dust the furniture and then with a gentle cleaner just clean the surface. Make sure to dilute it and use a cleaner that doesn’t have many corrosive ingredients otherwise the furniture will get damaged.

You can even use water and mild liquid soap to gently clean wicker furniture.

Wood

This can probably seem like the most challenging item to maintain. However, with the right knowledge, it can be super-easy for you! Firstly, you need to clean the dust with a damp cloth.

After this, you need to use a gentle cleanser to clean the wood deeply. Make sure you are extremely thorough during this whole process. Clean each section and piece of the wood to ensure it is cleaned properly.

If you want to give it an even deeper clean then just use a toothbrush to clear the wood of any sort of dirt.

Aluminium

This is also low-maintenance just like wicker furniture and can easily be taken care of. All you need to do is wash the furniture using a mild liquid soap. However, in the long run, if you aim at protecting the lustre of the aluminium then use auto wax twice a year to protect that shine.

However, if your outdoor aluminium furniture has a texture then it is better to put an extremely light coat of mineral oil twice a year to protect its texture and shine.

Fabric Of The Furniture

Apart from protecting the furniture, you need to make sure the fabric is cleaned too. If you have any sort of outdoor couches then they deserve a nice cleaning too.

For this, you need to see the type of fabric that is on your furniture and see any tags for the instructions of the manufacturer. Clean the fabric as well according to the instructions and enjoy nice and clean outdoor furniture.

Final Words

Maintenance is just as important as buying the product. With these tips, your outdoor furniture will always stay protected and last you for years so you can enjoy the weather comfortably!
